I used to be

I used to be Califronia. I was everything
to everybody except something to myself.
I used to be New York. I was tiringly
impressive, pretentious, hard metal, too busy.
I used to be Alaska. I was hard to get to,
unapproachable, they only guessed at how wild.

Now I am Columbus, Ohio, I am comfortably
cultured, a healthy mix of cow and opera. I
have everything and I am discovering myself,
and being discovered.
